When it All Started...
I remember the first time I ran. It was a 1km leg and was organised in the community I lived (and still do). It was the first time a run was organised in my community and I was probably 10 years old. I still remember the stamps the used to put on the bib to make sure you ran the entire way. Now, of course, we have sophisticated timing chips and what not. At this time I never knew running would turn into something I would enjoy...
So every year I participated and when I was 12, I ran my first 5k. I honestly don't remember what it was like, but I must've been pretty darn tired. So, this tradition continued, one run every December, 5k, for the purpose of contributing to education of the school kids. For the next marathons, I began practicing, running for 20 minutes a day. In November 2016 and 2017, I ran in an Oracle marathon, again 5k. I believe this is when I started to love running. This was when I realized that running is something that I enjoy, plus I wasn't bad at it. That December of 2017, which was just a month ago, I was determined to push myself to complete a 10km race. I practiced hard and ran every morning to build up my stamina. On 3rd December, I ran my first 10k. It was a big achievement for me and with a time of 1 hour 19 minutes...I didn't seem like a rookie.
With the commencement of a new year, dad and I took a resolution to run a marathon every month and I couldn't be more excited. My first run of the year is tomorrow and I would be running 10k. My goal is to complete a half-marathon before I go to college i.e. before 2020.
So...let the running begin!!!
